Join Us October 12th at 11am & October 13th and 14th at 6pm for our Revival

Join us for a 3-day Revival. We will kick it off Sunday October 12th at 11am and then continue on Monday October 13th and Tuesday October 14th at 7pm. We are beyond blessed to have Pastor Charles Kirkland bringing us what God has laid on his heart. Pastor Charles Kirkland accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. in 1962. He then rededicated his life to the Lord in 1985 at Kettering Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. In 1987 he was ordained a deacon at Kettering Baptist. Along with being a deacon, he was the chairman of deacons, he taught bible study for the youth, supported the youth activities, and taught adult Sunday school. In 1988 he taught bible studies to staff and inmates while employed at the DC Department of Corrections. While there he served as a principal, Deputy Warden, and Warden. He established the 1st revival at the youth center at the DC Department of Corrections at the Lorton, VA youth facility. On January 24, 1994, he got licensed to preach the gospel by Kettering Baptist Church and became a member of the Southern Baptist Convention. Once ordained to preach, he became an assistant to Pastor David Keyer on April 14, 1996. This led him to go on many mission trips and lead him to fill the pulpit after Pastor David Keyser resigned all the way up too the year 2000. He then transferred his membership to First Baptist Church of Mt. Rainier and became Associate Pastor under Marcus Tillman. In 2012 Tillman resigned and Pastor Kirkland assumed the Interim Pastor position until September 2017. On January 18, 2018, Kirkland transferred his membership to Benvenue Baptist Church in North Carolina. While there he ministered as a deacon and filled the pulpit under Pastor Mike Creekmore until he retired and then became the Interim Pastor until the church received its new pastor on January 1, 2023. This is where Pastor Kirkland is still a member and continues to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Help us by supporting our OCC Shoe box Ministry

Help us by supporting our OCC Shoe box Ministry

This is a continual yearlong ministry for us. Last year we shipped over 600 shoeboxes. One box cost $10 to ship. Again, this coming year we are focusing on the older age group (Ages 10-14 years old) and plan to ship 500+ boxes. We collect items all year long for the boxes. This month we are collecting:

Pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, spiral notebooks, colored pencils, crayons, erasers, scissors, soft pencil cases, rulers, sidewalk chalk, T- shirts and shorts, tote bags, and drawstring backpacks.  (Sizes 10-14 or MD-XL)
